Catholic Identity
Faith
GACC is committed to the Catholic faith and the teachings of the Catholic church. We are constantly seeking ways to deepen the faith of students and faculty through liturgy, sacraments, prayer and service.
Liturgy
As liturgy is central to our faith, GACC students have an opportunity to attend Mass each Wednesday. Various opportunities are available for students to be involved in liturgy such as Mass planning, altar serving, lectoring, ushering, song leading and serving as EMHCs. Family members are invited and encouraged to participate in liturgy with their children.
Sacraments
Sacramental preparation is a parish responsibility and GACC coordinates their preparation activities with St. Mary’s Director of Religious Education. Second grade teachers dedicate a portion of their instruction year to the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation. Eighth grade teachers dedicate a portion of their instructional year to Confirmation.
Multiple opportunities for reconciliation are offered throughout the school year through reconciliation services and retreats.
